Thank you for your support in 2023!

2023 is off to an exciting start for the Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation.  We have grown so much in just the past few months. As we have grown we have been able to host and sponsor many events and fundraisers to expand our reach of supporting even more public safety agencies throughout northwest Georgia. You can read about some of the highlights of our first half of 2023 in the stories below.  We have raised significant funds to support our mission of providing support, advocacy and appreciation events for our deserving heroes, agencies and causes. None of this is possible without the wonderful support of our sponsors, donors, supporters, volunteers and leadership team.  We are grateful to each of you and look forward to more great events and opportunities during the second half of 2023!

We were honored to be invited on the MDJ Podcast in August.  Listen here to find out more about our organization and our mission of supporting our local first responders

First Annual Honoring Heroes
Charity Golf Tournament

Presenting Sponsor

The Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation team would like to thank our presenting sponsor, LGE Community Credit Union along with all of our sponsors, participants and volunteers for their support of our 2023 Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Golf For Heroes Charity Golf Tournament on August 30, 2023 held at Creekside Golf and Country Club in Hiram.

Despite obstacles including a hurricane threatening our efforts we were overwhelmed with the SOLD OUT turnout for our very first year! The support for our mission was amazing and we well surpassed all of our goals.  The weather turned out beautiful and we had a full attendance of players and sponsors. From the photos you can see that everyone who joined us had a fantastic time on the course! We received so much good feedback that we are already planning our 2nd annual tournament and can't wait to see you all again next year!

We can not do what we do without our amazing team who donated countless hours of their personal time, sweat and investment into this event. Our foundation is a 501C3 non-profit, led and ran by volunteers which means all of the proceeds go directly to our mission of providing support for our heroes.

Thank you to our Official Photography Sponsor, Ray Hecksher Photography for all of his hard work and wonderful photos. A few of the photos are in the slide below but to view ALL of the photos from the event and download your favorite, please click on the Gallery link below the slides.

Second Annual Hot Rods for Heroes
Charity Car Show & Community Festival

The Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation team would like to thank our host sponsor Hardy Chevrolet Buick GMC for their support of our 2023 Hot Rods for Heroes Charity Car Show and Community Festival on June 24, 2023.

We were overwhelmed with the turnout again this year and the overwhelming support!

It was an amazing day and the event was PACKED full with awesome show cars, great vendors and food trucks, wonderful spectators who parked as far and wide as the eye could see and walked to our festival after our lot was filled beyond capacity. We were simply amazed by the fun and joy everyone brought to the event!! It was a great day filled with great cars and great folks all joining together for a great cause!

With approx. 300 cars, food trucks, vendors, over ten different public safety agencies, and countless spectators, an unprecedented amount of funds were raised to go back to our mission of providing support for our local first responders. We are very grateful to everyone that made that possible, including our sponsors, donors, and show participants.

A huge thank you to our all volunteer team. We had over 20 board members and ambassador volunteers who worked tirelessly before, during and after the event to make this day possible. We can not do what we do without our amazing team who donated countless hours of their personal time, sweat and investment into this event. Our foundation is a 501C3 non-profit, led and ran by volunteers which means all of the proceeds go directly to providing support for our heroes.

Appreciation Opportunities

Cobb National Night Out 2023

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships, enhancing the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.  For the past several years we have been proud to partner with the Cobb County Police Department Community Affairs Unit at National Night Out. Our team of ambassadors were busy engaging with all of the visitors, passing out gifts and of course handing out meals to our first responder heroes working the event. We are very proud to have the honor of providing dinner for our local heroes every year at NNO, they work very hard to make this event such a success for the whole community and we are proud to be there to support them.

Training Day

In memory of our friend Sgt. Steve Reeves, Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation decided to declare July "SWAT Month".  SWAT and CSU along with all of the elite specialty units that make up the tip of the spear hold a special place in our hearts. It takes someone very special to dedicate their life to law enforcement but to go the extra step to raise their hand to be the first in and say, Isaiah 6:8, "Here I Am Send Me" well that takes an extra special-ness that many just don't understand. We spent most of July visiting local SWAT, Tactical and Crime Suppression specialty units at some of the agencies we serve.  We provided the teams with nice steak lunches catered by Texas Roadhouse and spent the day observing and participating in some basic training with them.  We find that it allows us to become better advocates when we spend time training and riding along with these units.  It gives us a chance to get a glimpse of the intense and dedicated training they go through and observe some of the things they face on the job in their day to day duties. This helps to arm us with the first hand knowledge to better convey to others what these heroes go through, in training and in protecting and serving our communities. We are always honored to be invited to spend time with these elite teams and we couldn't be prouder to support these amazing heroes.

Honoring Local Heroes

In May our foundation was proud to honor two amazing heroes from Paulding County Fire/Rescue Station 3, Firefighter Joshua Hill and Firefighter Bradley Dixon for their outstanding, lifesaving, work. Firefighters Dixon and Hill responded to a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation call that involved a 79 year old male who was unresponsive with no pulse in full cardiac arrest. Due to their training, knowledge and actions, they were able to stabilize the male who was transported to the hospital and is in full recovery. As you may know, it is a very rare occasion to bring someone back to life, and a very rewarding one to do so.

We were contacted by Fox 5 news to learn more about our foundation and it's mission and reported a piece on this story. We are proud to be recognize the amazing local heroes that dedicate themselves to keeping our communities safe.

National Police Week May 15 - 20, 2023

Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

At the Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation, Inc we honor our heroes who dedicate themselves to keeping our communities safe during this week of remembrance by showing our support and appreciation by delivering meals and goodie baskets to our local law enforcement heroes during this week.

This year we more than doubled our deliveries and added four additional agencies to show our appreciation with deliveries of lunches and goodie baskets.  Agencies included:

* FOUR Counties

* EIGHT Law Enforcement Agencies

* TWENTY FIVE Shifts

* TWENTY Units

* TEN Special Operations Units

* Serving nearly 400 law enforcement superheroes and 30 K9 heroes!

Honoring and Remembering Two Heroes

On September 8, 2022, tragedy struck when in a senseless act of cowardice and evil, the Cobb County Sheriff's Office lost two heroes who were killed in the line of duty. Every year a delegation is sent to Washington, DC to remember fallen heroes from each agency.

This year the Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation was proud to be a sponsor of the Cobb Sheriff's Office delegation being sent to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington.

This will mark the first year that CCSO's two fallen heroes, Deputies Marshall Ervin and Jonathan Koleski’s names will be included in the memorial. We were honored to help send their families and 10 sheriff’s deputies, including those who were on the scene the night of Sept. 8, 2022, to participate in the programming including a candlelight vigil on the National Mall, a wreath-laying ceremony, and an honor guard watch.

The loss of Deputies Ervin and Koleski will forever be remembered and felt by their families, both blood and blue.

Volunteer Opportunities

As a 501(c)(3)  non-profit organization dedicated to public safety advocacy, support and appreciation, serving multiple agencies in northwest Georgia. We are always looking for like-minded supporters to join in supporting our heroes by becoming ambassadors.

In 2023 our team has grown to over 20 individuals who make up our board, advisors and volunteer ambassadors.

Our foundation is comprised of an amazing team of individuals all of whom work on a strictly volunteer basis.

Our board of directors is the managing arm of our foundation and is made up of both public safety and private citizens who are dedicated to many areas of responsibility including internal operations and event organization.  While our advisory board consists of advisors from several of the agencies we serve. These advisors provide input and help us to better understand and identify where needs are and how we can fulfill our mission of assisting and supporting our heroes and their agencies.

Our ambassadors are individuals who have made a commitment to assist with volunteer responsibilities while representing our foundation within the communities we serve.

Volunteers can sign up to either assist the organization on a full-time basis and/or by the event.
